Room to grow: All plants need space to grow, the above ground portion needs space for the stems and leaves to grow and the roots need enough space below the ground. If the plant is potted in a small pot the roots will be crowded in a small space and the plant will not thrive well.
Temperature: Most plants like the temperature that most humans like, but some which are native to tropical regions prefer warmer temperatures while the plants belonging to temperate zones prefer cooler temperatures.
Light: All plants need light to make food and survive, if you have windows keep the plants in the windows and in case you don’t have sufficient sunlight you could use grow lights. Place the grow lights a few inches above the plant and keep them on for at least fourteen hours.
Air, water and nutrients: Your plants need enough air and water as most nutrients are dissolved in the water and taken up by the plant. Fertilizers will provide the nutrients.
